What to do in Paulista Ave
>> walk around Augusta St. and visit urban stores,
taking Augusta St. from the crossing of Paulista Ave, go down two blocks Downtown side (where you find Safra bank on the corner), and check the urban and alternative style of the street, with foodpark, different kinds of closing stores, places, fast-foods, bars and also an underground side of the city.
>> visit the IMS (Instituto Moreira Sales),
only two blocks away from our Meeting Point, it' a nice option of Cultural Center with several art exibitions offered for free. There is a nice cafe and restaurant inside, and a nice spot to see Paulista Ave. It's opened from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10am to 8pm. It's located in front of the Cyclist Square.
>> visit the MASP (Museum of Art of Sao Paulo),
just four blocks away from our Meeting Point, it' the main museum of the avenue and one of the most important of the city. During the tour we tell everything about the MASP, curiosities, useful information, when and what to visit, but we don't go inside. So, it's a nice option if you like museums. It's opened from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10am to 6pm, and it costs BRL70 (buy online here).
On Tuesday it's free, but gets very busy of people in the afternoon - so it's clever to visit MASP on Tuesday morning (it's opened from 10am), and on Tuesdays the museum is opened until 8pm! ;-)
>> Itaú Cultural Center
one block from the Ending Point of "Paulista Ave" tour, it's a great option of cultural center for free, with an amazing permanent art exibition of the history of Brazil (4o and 5o floor), dont missi it! On the ground and underground floor you find temporary art exibitions. Everything for free, it's opened from 9am to 7pm (except on Mondays, when it's closed).
>> Casa das Rosas
the last "lost-in-time" old mansion of our tour located in Paulista Ave, it's possible to visit inside the house right after the tour (since the garden of this mansion is our Ending Point), the rooms, second floor, and enjoy the temporary cultural events when happening. It´s free to visit, and it closes at 6pm, and on Monday doesn't open the house, only the garden.
>> Japan House
a great private cultural center located just in front of our Ending Point, offers temporary art exibitions for free, being opened from 10am to 7pm (except on Mondays, when it's closed).
>> Sesc Paulista
A complex of artistic and sports activities, Sesc Paulista is the newest cultural spot of the avenue. Inside the building it;s possible to visit the top for free, where you find a nice cafe and a great panoramic observatory, being the best view of Paulista - opened from 10am to 9pm (only on Sundays until 6pm), it closes on Mondays.
